    Looking to upgrade firmware in my Passat.

    I have:
    RNS-MID (510E) HW H59 SW 2625

    Looking to get 3680, then 3690 (cause I've read you have to do the 3680 first, can't jump from 2625 to 3690). I have VCDS and can recode the label file as needed as I understand the switch from 2625 will change the part number.

    How do I go about getting the updated firmware? Do you offer?

    Would also then do similar to my Tig... except it's already @ 3680, would like to take it to the 3690.

    Please let me know any assistance you can provide.

    I write one more time becouse i don't know if my messages come to you. So, I didn't see on my device screen with Ok and Cancel when I want flash, becouse my navi not booting the cd with soft and all the time only blinking. May have some suggestions?

    Hi Mate,

    I am in Australia. Recently i upgraded my RNS510 with SW3970. That is when problems started. I couldn't load my maps unit was turning itself off and on. I decided to format Harddrive and install everything from scratch. However i realised that the HDD connection was IDE since i didn't have IDE adapter i re assembled the unit back together. Now when i installed it back in the car the unit will not power off. it looks like its dead. I checked all connections but no luck.

    Just wandering if you can fix it or know what the problem is.

    hi, i dont have 4 digit code for my mfd and the battery has finally died. vw gave me wrong code over fone, as its not the original navi mfd installed. any way of getting the code from serial number stamped on the radio

    I live in Australia. I bought an RNS-510 from a European seller and it arrived with a broken antenna connector.

    Are you able to repair this type of problem?

    I have had the RNS510 in my Jetta working perfectly for over a year now.

    This evening I got in the car and the system started with the usual "Welcome to Volkswagen" screen but then after a short while the screen went black and it appeared as if the system had shut down. After another short while the "welcome to VW" screen" re-appeared only to shut down again.

    I waited about 20 minutes just in case it would solve itself but it does not

    Is this a known problem, if so, whats the solution?
    If its not a known problem, any tips how I should repair? when i think about it the hard drive wouldnt let me save media to it before it we down
