Problem with MFD G. Navigation doesn't work when I drive.
Hi
Can you help me ?
My MFD doesn't work!
I explain:
I bought my MFD Version G on e-bay on november 2004. The installation was easy, and MFD worked very well.
Now, it is different:
When the MFD is turn on, a message "Navigation system is being activated" appears on the top of the screen (when radio screen is display picture DVC00687.jpg , and "The navigation system is being activated. Please observe RTR" when navigation screen is display, Picture DVC00686.jpg)
2-3 secondes later, a new message appear: "Entree dest. actived", Picture DVC00683.jpg, Or map/navigation screen is display.
It is Ok and normal.
But, then, when I drive, when the car is moving, the first message can appears again "Navigation system is beeing activated" Picture DVC00687.jpg (Or "The navigation system is being activated. Please observe RTR" Picture DVC00686.jpg when the map was running)
And the navigation doesn't work no more.
The map can appear again few secondes or minutes later, and navigation can work, even if I drive,
Or the map appears if I stop the car.
If map do not come back, I must to turn off the MFD and turn on few minutes later. The map appears.
But this problem begin again and again when I drive.. Some time, I have the map for a long time and the problem begin, some time, I can't get the map .
Some time, the map disappeares when I drive over 30 Km/h, some time , over 50Km/h, some time when I drive over 90Km/h. The map can appear again, but few secondes later, it will disappear again.
In the screen "Volume setting", the menu Navi volume is not actived when I have this problème. If the situation is good, this menu is actived.
This MFD worked very well before, but It began to work badly when it was very cold (-7°) outdoor.
Today, the weather is good (20°), but MFD doesn't work.
Does the antenne is dammage ? (It's not an VW antenne). Perhaps, the cold dammaged antenne ?
Does the MFD trie to calibrate himself again ?
Beacause I have the same message when I change Rotation wheel, or pulse (press 3 and 6 in same time). When I log off this screen, the message "The navigation system is being activated. Please observe RTR" is display, but few secondes later, the map appears.
Or when I insert a new CD, MFD loades the program and the same message "The navigation system is being activated. Please observe RTR" is display, and few secondes later, the map appears.
My MFD doesn't detect the GPS composant no more when I drive. Does it need calibrate again, or initialise the composant again .
Why ?
When the map appear, My car is drawing on the good street.
I made a copy of my CD, I thank my CD was dammage but, it is the same result.
I want to change my antenne, but Is it the solution ?
Or a bad wire ?
But, it is strange. It worked very well before.
I get generally 8 sattelites.
A other information. When I drive, my cursor disappear some sime, for few millisecondes and appear again. At this moment, some points appear at the TMC draw.
When I push buttons 3 and 6 in same time, two screen appears. When I have the problem, Some informations are empty:
NDB SW and NAV SW. I think MFD can't read the CD ?
Somebody can explain me what are these informations ?
Thanks a lot..
