Hi All,

I have recently took delivery of a Touareg with a preinstalled RadioCD system - which I have upgraded with an OE spec Navi System that is the same as the Factory fit one. This was easy to fit as all the connections were there, just needed to hook up a GPS ariel & this was all I've done.

The device started correctly when I entered the code the very first time and all functions (radio, CD) except the navigation system work fine. When trying to identify the GPS position no data seem to come up for latitude, longitude, altitude and angle.

I'm not sure now if the antenna doesn't fit with the original device or the Navgation-device is broken. I have asked a VW dealer if they can test it using VAG but they told me it's impossible without the original Touareg antenna which is embeded into the rearwindow of the car.
They also said I might need to upgrade the car-software-system to be able to install a navigation system into it. Isn't that strange ?

Has anyone had any experience when installing an RNS 2 navigation system ?

Any help or pointers appreciated.
