Hi!
I'm thinking of getting a phone kit, so I found out that I can either get one from cell phone maker, or I can retrofit the whole VW thing.
Now what I'm interested in is what is the VW interface (control unit) for? That thing by the handbrake lever under the central console cover. Phone maker's kit doesn't have this of course. That interface (control unit) is about 300 euro, and I'd like to know what does it do more than the phone maker's kit? Is there a reason for paying 300 euros??? Because the phone maker's kit can also mute my NAVI AFAIK
Btw, the phone is Sony Ericsson T230.

Maybe if someone has (english preferably) VW user guide for telephone (if they had it preinstalled at factory) it would be great if he could post it as PDF or picture scans!
