RDS-AF problem with MFD2
Hi again,
I’m still enjoying my MFD2 in my ’04 Golf, but recently, on longer journeys, I’ve noticed that the radio stations fade away, rather than changing to another transmitter (they are national stations, with multiple transmitters).
I’m presuming that the unit has RDS-AF (Alternative Frequency), but there’s no way to confirm whether it’s active or not - I can’t find anything in the menus.
All other functions of the unit work fine, including RDS naming, TMC (where available), and I can see the two tuners working in the ‘secret’ menu.
The hardware is the earliest CD-based unit (A version), and the SW version is V05.06 / 20040719 (updated from a 2003 version).
Any ideas how to enable the RDS-AF functionality?
